Cookie Policy

This cookie policy explains what cookies are, which cookies HermeticWisdom.org uses, and how you can manage your preferences.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites function, work more efficiently, and provide information to the site owners.

2. Essential storage (no consent required)

We use localStorage (similar to cookies, but stored in your browser) to remember your cookie preferences. This is strictly necessary for the functioning of the cookie banner and does not require consent.

3. Analytical cookies — Google Analytics

Purpose: collecting anonymised visitor statistics to improve the content and user experience of the website.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics 4).

Cookies: _ga, _ga_* — used to distinguish visitors.

Retention period: maximum 14 months.

Activation: these cookies are only placed if you explicitly give your consent via the cookie banner.

Opt-out: you can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser data or by reopening the cookie banner (delete cookie_choice_made from localStorage).

4. Media cookies — YouTube

Purpose: enabling embedded YouTube videos on the website.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited (YouTube).

How it works: videos are embedded via youtube-nocookie.com (privacy-enhanced mode). YouTube only places cookies when you actually play a video.

Activation: media cookies are only loaded if you give your consent via the cookie banner.

5. How to give or withdraw consent?

On your first visit, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page. Here you can choose per category:

To change your choice later, you can clear the stored preferences in your browser (Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage), after which the cookie banner will reappear.

6. More information
