We have visited six civilizations. We have studied their wisdom traditions. We have seen the parallels.
Now it is time for the synthesis.
In this module we take each of the seven Hermetic principles and trace their roots: where did we see this principle before? In which language did which tradition formulate the same insight?
The result is not a debunking of Hermeticism â on the contrary. It is a confirmation: these principles are so universal, so fundamental, that they were independently discovered by multiple civilizations.
đ§ "The All is Mind"
"The All is Mind. The Universe is Mental."
â The KybalionThe universal roots of Mentalism
Sumeria: Enki's creation magic â the world is created through divine intelligence and intention. The word of Enki creates reality.
Egypt: Heka â the creative power of consciousness and word. The Memphite theology: Ptah creates the world by thinking about it and speaking it. The universe is a mental creation.
India: Brahman as pure consciousness that is the ground of all reality. "Tat Tvam Asi" â the microcosm (you) is identical to the macrocosm (The All). Maya â the physical world is a mental projection.
Persia: Vohu Manah â good thoughts as a creative cosmic force. Ahura Mazda as divine intelligence that orders reality.
Greece: Nous (divine Mind) in Anaxagoras and Plato. The world of Ideas as the higher mental reality. The sensory world as an imperfect reflection.
Conclusion: Mentalism is the most universal principle. Every great tradition formulated it.
đ Mentalism Across the Traditions
| Tradition | Formulation | Key Concepts |
|---|---|---|
| Sumeria | Creation magic of Enki | Word creates, divine intelligence |
| Egypt | Heka, Memphite theology | Consciousness creates, Ptah thinks the world |
| India | Brahman, Maya | Reality is consciousness, illusion of matter |
| Persia | Vohu Manah, Ahura Mazda | Good thoughts create good reality |
| Greece | Nous, Plato's World of Ideas | Higher mental reality, lower material |
| Hermeticism | "The All is Mind" | Universe is mental |
If all great traditions independently discovered the same thing â that consciousness is more fundamental than matter, that the universe is mental in nature â what does that tell us? Is this a human projection, or the discovery of a fundamental truth?
Mentalism in Practice (daily, 5 minutes)
Spend five minutes today observing your thoughts. Not changing them â observing them. Notice how every thought generates an emotion. How every emotion creates a tendency toward action.
Thought â Emotion â Action â Reality.
This is Mentalism in action. This is Heka. This is Vohu Manah. This is what all traditions describe.
